DevOps Engineer


Our partner is an international, PCI DSS certified payment service provider in SaaS mode. By relying on the latest payment technology stack, they release financial institutions from legacy systems and boost their time-to-market for innovative products and services. In Riga they are extending a core team for SaaS service provisioning to global customers. SaaS with multi-region cloud installations, clients in different geographies, 99.98% availability, and security defense-in-depth. Only a few organizations in Latvia have such an interesting IT environment. Currently, they have clients both in the production and implementation phases.

As DevOps engineer, you will specialize in their payment processing platform and its underlying platform technologies. Their team of DevOps engineers together with the Application support engineer and Security team are responsible for delivering a highly available, reliable, and secure SaaS service.

What will you do:

  • Contribute to the development of cloud-native approach and technology stack, test new tools and technologies;
  • Build and maintain the underlying multi-cloud infrastructure as well as the DevOps toolset and other components that comprise the overall platform;
  • Build new solutions and improve the existing ones, automate daily tasks, and improve overall platform automation and monitoring solutions;
  • Together with the security and compliance team develop, implement, and maintain secure and compliant systems;
  • Participate in the deployment and integration of application releases and patches;
  • Deploy and integrate new client environments in the existing platform;
  • Participate in scheduled on-call support on a rolling basis.

Ideally, you should have:

  • Experience with any cloud technologies;
  • Understanding of IaC (Infrastructure as Code) and Configuration Management (CM). Preferably with Ansible and/or Terraform;
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and overall automation, testing, and monitoring. GitLab experience is preferred, but any other CI/CD tool is also acceptable;
  • At least a basic understanding of networking concepts - how computer networks function (for example, protocols, load balancing, etc.);
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows operating systems and scripting;
  • Analytical and growth mindset. Focused on teamwork and solving problems;
  • Ability to work independently and in with remote teams.

If you do not have some knowledge and experience with the things mentioned (for example, Oracle Cloud), that’s completely fine. They have a supportive team and learning opportunities to bring you up to speed through learning and obtaining certifications.

Nice to have, not mandatory:

  • Preferable experience in an environment with a positive focus on security and compliance (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, Zero Trust Architecture).
